Performance Management Process Overview
Performance Management is a part of everything managers do in interacting with staff to accomplish agency goals. The Performance Management Program (PMP) outlines processes and practices that support ongoing/cyclical engagement of employees by managers. With their managers, employees establish and document clear expectations, goals and responsibilities. Then, through receipt of ongoing feedback and coaching by their manager, peers and others vested in the success of the agency, employees ensure that expectations are achieved. Performance management actively involves managers and employees in affirming mutal state, agency, unit and personal goals, annually assessing the employee's success in fulfilling one year's expectations and then setting expectations for the next.
