State of Georgia competencies
One aspect of Georgia's performance management program (PMP) focuses on identifying important competencies - those attributes, behaviors, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics that contribute to individual success within all organizations.
Currently, the State of Georgia emphasizes five Core Competencies:
Judgement & Decision Making, Teamwork & Cooperation, Results Orientation, Accountability, and Customer Service.
In addition, managers are evaluated on two core leadership competencies:
Talent Management and Transformers of Government.
These and other competencies are demonstrated by employees in various roles to achieve specific goals. Managers work to identify gaps in applicable competencies that can be addressed through learning and development - with employees attaining the necessary skills specific to their job and Agency success.
