Communications

Georgia law now requires municipalities, counties, and local boards of education to post certain bid and proposal opportunities to the Georgia Procurement Registry, which is managed by the State Purchasing Division.

These laws came about due to House Bill 489 and House Bill 322 which were enacted in 2018 and 2019 respectively. To put the law related to House Bill 489 into effect, the State Purchasing Division released communications to local government in May and June of 2018.

For a summary of the revised requirements for local governments posting to the GPR enacted by House Bill 322, please see the May 2019 memo.
