Workforce Strategies Initiative

​​​​​​The Department of Administrative Services (DOAS), Human Resources Administration (HRA) has launched an ambitious project to develop specific workforce development strategies and career paths for key occupation areas in State government. Launched in January 2022, the partnership is supported by the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) and will have statewide impact. The implementation date is December 2022.


In collaboration with our partners – the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), and the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government – our goal is to identify strategies to boost the workforce pipeline and promote retention. Other goals include the following:


  • Target specific career paths that cross multiple agencies
  • Bolster linked education programs and internship programs


On January 14, 2022, we hosted our kickoff event, a Workforce Strategies Webinar, with more than 160 Human Resource professionals and educational leaders from across the state.
