Greene County Emergency Operations uses Surplus vehicle to help apprehend escaped inmate
By:
A couple weeks ago, Greene County Emergency Operations employed its mobile command post to aid in the successful apprehension of an inmate that had walked away from a work detail. The mobile command post they used was a Ford E-350 the county acquired through the State's Surplus Property Program and then rehabbed. The installation of all the equipment, and the painting, were done by a handful of resourceful Greene County firefighters and county employees.
It is very rewarding to see how making these resources cost-effective for smaller government entities can positively impact their ability to perform their mission.
