Introduction to Board Rules, Policy and Compliance

The state’s policies and practices follow relevant employment laws, and they’re intended to encourage effective talent management. Most of these regulations can be found in a series of State Personnel Board Rules; other guidance comes from statewide policies. Each agency may tailor its internal human resources policies and practices to fit its culture and other needs, provided they comply with state rules and guidelines.
