We are happy to provide guidance and support to help you through the application process. To learn more about the VOSB program, please watch this short, four-minute video. To learn about the VSO program, scroll down the page to the VSO section.

Surplus Property Program for Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB)

The Veterans Small Business Enhancement Act of 2018 allows qualified veteran-owned small businesses to acquire federal surplus property through their State Agency for Surplus Property (SASP). Our Surplus Property Division is the designated SASP for the state of Georgia.

For this program, VOSB and SDVOSB are regarded equally and there is no distinction.

How to Apply

  1. The first step in the process is getting your business certified through the U.S. Small Business Administration. Veteran First Verification Program.
  2. After your business is verified, complete an online application with the DOAS Surplus Property Program.

Certain restrictions apply

  • You must use the property you receive within one year and use it for at least a year.
  • Requested property must align with the mission of your business.
  • Other restrictions may apply and will be discussed during the requisition process.

Property is received on an as-is and where-is basis

This means you must pick up the property at the agency where it is located, and it does not have a warranty. However, you can schedule an inspection to review the item prior to acquiring it.

Begin Saving

As soon as your application is approved, you can begin saving. Search for Federal Surplus property on the General Services Administration's Personal Property Management System (PPMS) Website.
