Nicholas Jordan, a proud Veteran and the founder of Jordan Towing LLC, first discovered the DOAS Surplus Property Program while researching opportunities available to Veteran-owned businesses in Georgia.
After discovering the benefits of the program, Jordan Towing LLC officially enrolled in the program on July 9, 2024. Since then, the program has provided key resources that have significantly enhanced the business’s capabilities and services.
Through the Surplus Property Program, Jordan acquired a 2008 Ford Ranger Pickup Truck, a Big Joe Pallet Jack, and a Lowboy Trailer. These assets have added critical diversity to Jordan Towing’s service offerings.
The pallet jack now supports small moves of LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) items from dock to dock—an essential capability for meeting varied customer needs. The Lowboy trailer has become vital for transporting larger, inoperable vehicles across the state of Georgia, expanding the company's service area and impact. The Ford Ranger pickup truck, the most recent acquisition, is now used as a reliable support vehicle for daily operations, including maintenance runs and equipment hauling.
Jordan credits the Surplus Property Program as a catalyst for his company’s recent growth. “Participating in the Georgia DOAS Surplus Property Program has been instrumental in the growth and development of my small, Black-Veteran-owned business,” Jordan said. “Through the program, I’ve been able to acquire essential machinery that helps specialize and widen our operational capabilities.”
Looking ahead, Jordan views continued collaboration with the program as essential to his business's future. With the right tools in place, he believes the program can support his company's growth and further strengthen its impact on the industry.
